Dr. Ze Gong, currently a tenure-track professor in the Department of Modern Mechanics at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He earned his bachelor's degree from USTC in 2013 and his doctoral degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2017. Before joining USTC, he had postdoctoral training at the Center for Engineering Mechanobiology (CEMB) at the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) from 2017-2022. Dr. Gong’s research group studies the topics at the interface of cells and biomaterials with a focus on cell mechano-sensing and mechano-transduction by integrating theoretical tools with experiments. His work has been published in PNAS, Nat. Mater., Nat. Commun., Cell Rep., ACS Nano., JMPS, etc, and related findings have been reported by Science Daily, F1000Prime, and the websites of HKU and UPENN.
