Dr. Yixin Hu is a Professor at the University of Science and Technology of China. She received her B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Duke University. She subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at Duke University, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In recent years, Dr. Hu has focused her research on functional and responsive polymers, flame-retardant materials, and high-performance polymer composites. Her current research continues to bring together polymer chemistry, fire safety, and artificial intelligence, with the goal of developing functional and fire-safe materials through a combination of mechanistic understanding and data-driven approaches. Dr. Hu has published 15 SCI papers in journals including the Journal of the American Chemical Society, Science, Macromolecules, and ACS Materials Letters, with more than 1,000 citations. She received the Royal Society of Chemistry Materials Chemistry Horizon Prize and was selected for the Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Overseas) of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Graduate students with backgrounds in organic chemistry, polymer science and materials, or related fields are encouraged to join the group. Students interested in interdisciplinary research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, large language models, and materials design are also highly welcome. Applicants with relevant research experience are encouraged to apply for postdoctoral positions.
