Jie Ji is currently the only Chair Professor at the Department of thermal science and energy engineering, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Executive Committee Member and Fellow of the World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies (WSSET), Core Distinguished Researcher of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Executive Committee Member and Fellow of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society (CRES), Deputy Director of the Solar Thermal Utilization /Thermal Power Specialization Committee, etc. He has established a global reputation as a distinguished academia in the area of comprehensive utilization of solar energy. A series of original achievements have been realized in the theory of full-spectrum cascade utilization, photoelectric/thermal comprehensive utilization technology, and multi-effect solar energy building integration, and the published papers in related directions rank first in the world. His H-index is 87 with more than 400 published papers and over 26,000 total citations. His sustained influence is evidenced by his inclusion in Stanford University's "World's Top 2% Scientists" list for career-long impact, his consecutive appearance on the Elsevier "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list for 12 years (since 2014), and a ScholarGPS Rank within the top 0.05% worldwide in his field. The relevant achievements have won the Outstanding Achievement Award of WSSET, the only Outstanding Contribution Award of CRES, Newton Nomination Award, and Nominated for the SHC Solar Award. First Prize of Scientific and Technological Invention of CRES, China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Award, European Dragon Star Innovation Award, etc.
