Hi research focuses on membrane-based carbon capture for carbon neutrality, environmental engineering and water treatment, lithium and uranium extraction from seawater and salt lake brines, as well as the separation and purification of micropollutants. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers as the first or corresponding author in prestigious journals, including Science Advances (4 papers), Nature Communications (3 papers), Angewandte Chemie International Edition (2 papers), Advanced Materials (3 papers), Advanced Functional Materials (1 paper), JACS Au (1 paper), ACS Nano (4 papers), Nano Letters (2 papers), ACS Catalysis, Journal of Membrane Science, and Environmental Science & Technology. He holds 9 authorized patents. He has led numerous research projects, including the Outstanding Overseas Young Scientists Fund, General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), sub-projects of the National Key R&D Program, the Young Scientist Project of the National Key R&D Program, and industrial research collaborations with petrochemical enterprises. He has been invited repeatedly to present lectures at flagship international membrane conferences such as ICOM and NAMS. He is a member of the European Membrane Society and the North American Membrane Society. He serves on the Young Editorial Board of journals including Advanced Membranes (JCR Q1, IF=9.5) and Carbon Capture Science & Technology (JCR Q1, IF=10.5). He also works as an ad-hoc peer reviewer for top-tier journals including Nature Chemical Engineering, Nature Communications, Science Advances, JACS, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, and Advanced Materials.
