In particular, he is interested in applying plasma physics and fluid dynamics to exciting topics relevant to inertial confinement fusion (ICF) and astrophysics. He uses large-scale Paricle-in-Cell (PIC) and fluid simulations to help understanding different levels of physical details in these highly nonlinear areas of physics.
