Xiaoyuan Song
Biography

Dr. Song, Xiaoyuan is a professor of the School of Life Sciences, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biology from Beijing Normal University and her Ph.D. degree in Biology from the University of Rochester, USA. Dr. Song conducted postdoctoral research training in the University of California, San Diego/HHMI, receiving a postdoctoral fellowship from the Cancer Research Institute. She joined the School of Life Sciences of USTC at the end of 2012. For many years, Dr. Song has been engaged in epigenetic regulation of gene transcription, focusing on the role and mechanism of three-dimensional (3D) transcription regulation, consisting of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and 3D genome structures, in biological processes such as brain aging and spermatogenesis. She has published a series of articles in journals of Genome Res, Genes Dev, Cell Death Differ, et al. She serves as a group head of a National Key Scientific Program of China, and in charge of several NSFC projects.
