Profile
Zhu Chengming, Ph.D., is an Associate Research Fellow. He obtained his bachelor's degree from Anhui University in 2012 and his doctoral degree from the School of Life Sciences at the University of Science and Technology of China in 2017 under the supervision of Professor Shouhong Guang, studying non-coding RNAs. During this time, he was awarded the Qiu Shi Scholarship for Graduate Students (2015). From June 2017 to May 2020, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Division of Life Sciences and Medicine at the University of Science and Technology of China, researching nuclear RNA interference pathways in eukaryotes and the biogenesis mechanisms and physiological functions of novel small interfering RNAs. During this time, he received and led projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China for Young Scientists, the National Postdoctoral Science Foundation First Class Grant, the National Postdoctoral Science Foundation Special Grant, the Natural Science Foundation of Anhui Province for Young Scientists, and the Youth Innovation Fund of the University of Science and Technology of China. Since June 2020, he has been an Associate Research Fellow at the Division of Life Sciences and Medicine, University of Science and Technology of China. His main research focuses on transcriptional regulation and functions of piRNAs, biogenesis mechanisms and functions of noncoding small RNAs, and mechanisms and functions of RNA epigenetic modifications. His major research achievements have been published as first author or corresponding author in journals such as Nature Communications (2023), Cell Reports (2023), P.N.A.S. (2021), Nucleic Acids Research (2021), P.N.A.S. (2018), Current Biology (2015), etc.
