Elucidating the performance variations and critical issues of Zn electrodes in different types of aqueous electrolytes for Zn-based rechargeable batteries

In this work, the performance variations of Zn electrodes in alkaline and neutral/slightly acid systems are investigated. By means of electrochemical tests and material characterization, the problems faced by Zn electrodes in different systems of Zn are revealed in terms of cycling performance, reaction kinetics and reversibility, providing a basis for the construction of high-performance zinc electrodes in the future.
