There are many emerging quantum materials that are insulating in nature, including topological magnon insulators, quantum spin liquids and noncollinear antiferromagnetic insulators. Because of the insulating nature, usual electrical technique can not probe these types of materials. However, because of the existence of quasiparticles in these materials, which can interact with spin, like magnon and spinon, spin current provide a unique probe to study the intriguing properties in these materials, and explore their application in quantum information technology.
