The era of fossil energy will go out due to its shortcomings of limited resources and environmental pollution. Meanwhile, the renewable energy is assumed to be able to unlimitedly use and become the concerned focus of the world. At present, solar energy, wind energy and other renewable energy is restricted by its intrinsic disadvantages of the intermittent and instability. It is still difficult to achieve in a large-scale, but electrochemical technology can be used to convert unstable renewable energy into chemical energy and further obtain stable electrical energy output.

Biomass materials are a huge treasure given to humans by the nature, and have many advantages in the development of energy storage and conversion electrodes, such as abundant sources, environmentally friendliness, renewability, low cost and so on. It can be seen that from the comprehensive consideration of the economic, practical and sustainable development of materials, the use of biomass to develop energy storage and conversion electrode materials is of extremely important strategic significance.

At present, our research group is mainly engaged in the structural design, macro preparation and study of biomass-derived nanomaterials and their electrochemical energy storage and conversion (new secondary batteries, flexible energy storage devices, photo/electrocatalysis, etc).

The development goal of the research group is to cultivate outstanding students and establish extensive and good cooperative relations with friends in academia and industry.

We thank all friends over the world for the continued support and help! We sincerely hope that all friends will put forward valuable comments and suggestions.
