Overcoming biological barriers for improved tumor delivery

Despite substantial progress in cancer therapy, highlighted by achievements such as immune checkpoint blockade antibodies and CAR T cell therapies, solid tumors treatment remains a significant challenge. Issues such as insufficient blood perfusion, dense extracellular matrix, and elevated intratumoral pressure pose obstacles to the penetration of therapeutics deep into tumors. The Gong Lab is committed to unraveling novel mechanisms that contribute to these barriers in tumor delivery. The lab is also interested in devising innovative drug delivery strategies to overcome these challenges and enhance drug delivery into cancers.
