PH5520201: Theory of Solid State Physics

    点击次数:

    • Basic Information: This is a graduate level course for those whose major is theoretical condensed matter physics, but strong undergraduates are welcome, in fact encouraged, to take the course. The background needed is Solid State Physics, Quantum Mechanics and preferably, Advanced Quantum Mechanics. More Information about this course is here.

    • Class Hour/ Place / CreditTUE (6,7), THU (8,9) / 5303/ 4

    • Office Hour: WED afternoon in National Lab Building, Rm. 9018.

    • Question & Answer:

      • Q: My major is experimental Condensed Matter Physics. I cannot do a lot of calculations. I just need to know some basic ideas about theory of Solid State Physics. Is it possible to give me lower standard in the examination?

      • A: No. As long as you take my course, you have to fulfill all the requirements of this course. Credits come from hard work, not lower standard. Good Credits come from harder work!

      • Q: I am afraid I can not pass your course.

      • A: As long as you take all notes of my lecture, and finish all the assignments I give to you, you will pass the exam. If you get ANY trouble in your study, just come to my office in my office hour and I will help you. You may also email your question to get quicker answer.

      • Q: Can you recommend any reference books?
