Jahanzaib Mughal completed his M.Phil. degree in 2023 from the Centre of Excellence in Solid State Physics, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan — one of the nation’s most prestigious and highly ranked research institutions. Graduating with a CGPA of 3.74/4.00, his thesis focused on the synthesis and electrochemical characterization of Co₃O₄@x%rGO (x = 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%) nanocomposites as efficient electrode materials for supercapacitor applications, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Shahid Atiq.
He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) — consistently ranked among the top 100 universities worldwide for its research excellence. His doctoral research explores advanced energy materials and hybrid systems for next-generation energy conversion, storage technologies, material synthesis, nanotechnology and thermal management of energy storage systems.
Jahanzaib is the first author of a publication in Diamond and Related Materials and a co-author of a paper in Physica Scripta. He also serves as a certified peer reviewer for the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy.
Beyond academia, Jahanzaib is a published Urdu poet, columnist, and social activist. He has authored three books, including The Lost Whites of Pakistan quoted by the American Times Asian Wing News , which celebrates the contributions of Pakistan’s forgotten minority figures. He serves as Chairperson of the Stuntzabad Art Council, President of PEG (Partners of Eternal Glory) International - a Charity house, and Prestige Member of the Foreign Students Association (FSA) at USTC. Additionally, he is a minority wing youth leader in Pakistan and his legacy is still being written.
