Ai-Hui Tang, PhD
He earned his Bachelor's degree of science in 2002 and Doctor of Philosophy in Biophysics in 2007 from the School of Life Sciences at Peking University. Following that, he worked successively as a postdoctoral researcher,research associate, and assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in the United States before he joined the University of Science and Technology in 2018.
His laboratory focuses on the development and application of single-molecule imaging-based super-resolution imaging techniques and spatial transcriptomics in neuroscience. His research in neuroscience primarily centers on fundamental neurophysiological processes such as synaptic transmission and plasticity, as well as the mechanisms by which they contribute to pathologies. Notably, he has made significant discoveries including the "nanocolumn" in the field of synaptic physiology. His work has been published in prestigious international journals like Nature, Nature Methods, PNAS, and Cell Reports.
