Clarifying the limiting factor of material utilization in thick electrodes of lithium-ion batteries

In this work, the comprehensive factors that limit the capacity of thick electrodes, including the kinetic performance and thermodynamic properties of the electrodes, are analyzed in detail with a combination of experiments and simulations, and a comparison between the two is made. The findings of this study provide a new line of thought for the practical application and development of thick electrodes.
