Dr. Li-Feng Chen is the Recipient of the National Natural Science Fund for Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Overseas) Program, a professor at the University of Science and Technology of China. He holds joint appointments as a Professor at the Hefei National Research Center for Physical Sciences at the Microscale and the Key Laboratory of Mechanics on Materials and Design of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is an Editorial Board Member of Journal of Anhui University of Technology (Natural Science Edition) and a Young Editorial Board Member of Nano Research, Chinese Chemical Letters, Rare Metals, and International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing.
He has published over 60 papers in leading international journals, including Science, J. Am. Chem. Soc.,Adv. Mater., Angew. Chem., and Energy Environ. Sci., with more than 10,000 total citations. His honors include the Nano Research Top Papers Award, the JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship, and the Outstanding Graduate Award of Anhui Province.
He has participated in several major research projects, including the National Key R&D Program of China, key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), strategic research and consulting projects of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and NSFC General Programs. He has also co-authored two academic monographs.
He serves as an invited reviewer for numerous leading international journals, including Advanced Materials, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Energy & Environmental Science, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS), ACS Nano, ACS Energy Letters, Nano Letters, and Coordination Chemistry Reviews. He has also served as Guest Editor of the special issue “Carbon Materials and Electrochemical Energy Storage” in Acta Physico-Chimica Sinica.
In addition, he acts as a reviewer and evaluation expert for multiple research funding and academic assessment programs, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the National High-Level Talent Special Support Program, the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong, and the Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Awards. He has also served as an expert reviewer for research projects funded by several provincial governments, including Anhui, Shandong, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hebei, and Inner Mongolia, and has participated in faculty promotion and talent evaluation committees at universities such as Wuhan University, Central South University, South China University of Technology, Chongqing University, and Zhengzhou University. He has further contributed as an expert for doctoral program evaluations and thesis assessments organized by the Ministry of Education of China and other national academic evaluation platforms.
