Dr. Li-Feng Chen is a Recipient of the National Natural Science Fund for Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Overseas) Program and a professor at the University of Science and Technology of China. He holds joint appointments at the Hefei National Research Center for Physical Sciences at the Microscale and the CAS Key Laboratory of Mechanics on Materials and Design. He has published over 60 papers in leading international journals, including Science, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Adv. Mater., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., and Energy Environ. Sci., with more than 10,000 citations. His research is supported by multiple competitive grants, including the NSFC Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Overseas), two NSFC General Programs, and projects under the National Key R&D Program of China and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He has co-authored two monographs and received honors, including the JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship, Outstanding Graduate of Anhui Province, and the Outstanding Editorial Board Member award from Nano Research.
He serves as a reviewer for major funding agencies and programs, including the NSFC programs (Young Scientists Fund B and C, General Program), the National High-Level Talents Special Support Program, and the Hong Kong Research Grants Council, as well as for provincial science and technology projects and awards in Anhui, Shandong, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hebei, and Inner Mongolia. He is also involved in faculty promotion, tenure, and talent evaluation at several leading universities (Wuhan University, Central South University, South China University of Technology, Chongqing University, and Zhengzhou University, Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay), Indian Institutes of Technology (Delhi), and COMSATS University (Islamabad)), as well as in doctoral program and thesis evaluations organized by the Ministry of Education.
Dr. Chen is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Anhui University of Technology (Natural Science Edition) and a young editorial board member for Nano Res., Chin. Chem. Lett., Rare Met., and Int. J. Extreme Manuf. He has served as a guest editor for Acta Phys. -Chim. Sin., and as a referee for top-tier journals, including Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Adv. Mater., PNAS, Energy Environ. Sci., ACS Nano, ACS Energy Lett., Nano Lett., and Coord. Chem. Rev.
His students and postdoctoral researchers have received competitive honors and funding, including the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) Outstanding Doctoral Student Support Program, the Young Rising Star Award in Thermoelectric Materials, the National Scholarship, National Postdoctoral Program for Innovative Talents, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and the Anhui Provincial Youth Science Fund (Category C).
