从事粒子物理电弱精确测量、超出标准模型唯像理论与实验探测、核探测技术与实验方法,参加费米实验室Tevatron/D0、欧洲核子中心LHC/ATLAS高能对撞机大科学装置国际合作。完成基本物理常数弱混合角测量,获得质子-反质子对撞单一反应道、单一实验世界最精确结果;提出TeV对撞机上探测超对称R宇称破缺轻子新物理共振态理论方案,在D0/ATLAS实验中领导相关实验研究;提出强子对撞电弱过程探测核子结构理论设想,预言表征质子内组分夸克分布的新观测量、并开展实验测量;开展高分辨率气体探测器实验研究,领导重大国际合作专项ATLAS Phase1 Muon触发系统及前端电子学研制。当选中科院百人计划、国家杰出青年科学基金、教育部创新团队学术带头人、科技部中青年科技创新领军人才、中组部国家万人计划科技创新领军人才、基金委创新群体学术负责人、国务院学位委员会第八届学科评议组核科学与技术组联合召集人。
