Profile

Professor Xing Meng is a space physicist, a space plasma modeler, and a former JPLer. She has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and given many invited talks at conferences and research institutions. She is the recipient of several NASA and JPL awards, including the prestigious NASA Early Career Achievement Medal. Professor Meng's current research focuses on the ionospheric responses to forcings from above and below, in particular the lithosphere-atmosphere-ionosphere coupling during surface impulsive events like earthquakes, tsunamis, and tropical cyclones, solar wind-magnetosphere-ionosphere electrodynamic coupling processes, as well as large-scale ionosphere structuring influenced by the lower atmospheric and the solar wind/magnetospheric conditions.
