Zhuolong Yu is currently a Professor (特任教授) at the School of Computer Science and Technology, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He received his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University, where he was advised by Prof. Xin Jin and Prof. Vladimir Braverman.
Before joining USTC, he spent two and a half years at Microsoft, working on high-performance networking—particularly RDMA—to support hyperscale AI training workloads (including large-scale training clusters for GPT-4.5, and cross-region training) and cloud storage systems (Azure Storage).
His research interests include designing high-performance and programmable networked systems for cloud and AI workloads, low-latency communication and RDMA for large-scale distributed systems, and cloud-scale data center networks and intelligent computing infrastructure.
