The Nano-Ionic Laboratory focuses on new paradigms in materials research based on materials geometry and structural chemistry, and their potential for applications in energy storage.
The main interests include:
1. material geometry, with a focus on defect states, amorphous states, glasses, etc. of materials
2. non-lithium ion batteries
3. metal-carbon dioxide batteries
4. Novel integrated energy storage devices
With the help of spatial ordering of structural motifs of functional materials, and taking advantage of the abundant geometrical and chemical disorder in inorganic solids, we have carried out in-depth and systematic research in the design of structural units, synergistic associations of motifs triggered by ordering, and in-situ evolution of the motifs, to achieve the intelligent modulation of light and electricity by materials. He has published more than 70 papers in international journals such as Nat. Comm., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. and so on, with total citations of more than 11,000 and H-factor of 42.
