Our research is in the development of high-fidelity numerical models using Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) and Large-Eddy Simulation (LES) techniques. Our research topics can be divided into the following categories:

  • Solid fuel combustion: Pulverized oxy-coal combustion, Biomass combustion, Metal combustion;

  • Low-carbon combustion: Hydrogen combustion, Enriched hydrogen/ammonia combustion;

  • Engine environment combustion: Ignition, numerical model development;

  • Pollutant formation: NOx formation, SOx formation, Soot formation;

  • Numerical algorithms development.
