ProfileDr. Shangfeng Yang (PhD, FRSC) Dr. Shangfeng Yang received his Ph. D. from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2003. He then joined Leibniz-Institute for Solid State and Materials Research (IFW) Dresden, Germany as an Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Fellow (2004-2005) and a Guest Scientist (2005-2007). In Dec. 2007 he joined University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) as a full professor of Hefei National Laboratory for Physical Sciences at Microscale & Department of Materials Science and Engineering, and has been appointed as Department Head since Oct. 2014. He was also appointed as the Deputy Director of CAS Key Laboratory of Materials for Energy Conversion in Oct. 2015, and Dean Assitant of School of Chemistry and Materials Science in May 2021. His current research interests include the synthesis and characterization of novel nanocarbons (mainly endohedral fullerenes) as well as their applications in organic/perovskite solar cells. Dr. Yang published over 300 peer-reviewed papers in journals including Nature Commun., Adv. Mater., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Chem. Rev., Chem. Soc. Rev., Acc. Chem. Res., edited two monographs entitled ‘‘Endohedral Fullerenes: From Fundamentals to Applications’’ (World Scientific Publishing Co.) and "Fullerenes: Fundamentals to Applications" (Scientic Publisher), and contributed to 9 book chapters. He delivered more than 80 invited lectures in international and domestic conferences. He was elected as Fellow of RSC (FRSC) in 2019. He was also the recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2019), “Young Faculty Award” of USTC Alumni Foundation (2010), "CAS Excellent Supervisor Award" (2016, 2017).
